Georges Seurat né à Paris le 2 décembre 1859 et mort le 29 mars 1891 dans la même ville est un peintre et dessinateur français. Il est l'inventeur de la technique dite divisionniste, de division du ton, appelée également peinture optique ou chromo-luminarisme, et plus couramment pointillisme.
